Hi Dave,

Just a quick update,,, Had the nationals over hear a few weeks ago Arnie fought in the under 55kg and he was only weighing 49.5 we had to make him drink loads of water so by the time he got on the scales his weight was 50.5kg which allowed him to fight, after a few good wee's he was back to his normal weight. He had some good fights and won the Gold, then went on to fight in the young mens 55kg won all but one fight which he over rotated with a Ogoshi and the score went to the other player so got the Silver.

Daina had a knee injury she tried to fight but made the injury worse now she has got to see the surgeon and may have to have a op.

Arnie has recently broken his thumb and is in plaster, another Judo injury.

For the last few weeks we have had the Japanese no1 73kg player (tipped to take the gold at the next Olympics) training with us at the club so picked up some good stuff soon we've got the Japanese women's team coming to use the dojo for a few weeks so that will be good as well.
