Hi Toby & Brian,

I hope you are both fine at the moment. I thought I'd send an email to let you know how Ken, the Japanese student who trained a few times at Timken is doing...

I met Ken last weekend in Osaka; he is really training hard for Judo and has lost 5kgs in weight, and is a lot more muscular.

After a day of sightseeing in Osaka, Ken kindly invited me to watch him and his friends from Osaka Prefectural University Judo Club compete in a Judo tournament. The tournament was held at the Shudokan, in the grounds of Osaka Castle, it really was a spectacular setting. The competition was "open weight" and Ken was unfortunately pitted against two big blokes, one of them must have been well over 110kg!

  I have attached some photos...

By the way, Ken says "hello", and hopes to one day train at Timken again.

  Hope you enjoy the photos,
  Mark
