OUR JUNIOR PLAYERS DID US PROUD

2 Weeks ago a party of our Junior players set off early for Walsall to the north of Birmingham for what was for all of them there first competition. And coaches Gemma and Nick were so proud of them all. Freya won gold with 3 straight ippons which was fantastic for her first ever competition.

Kayla won a well deserved silver which I cannot understand why it wasnt gold. Apparantly 3 girls in her group and they all had equal wins and points so they were made to fight again. Kayla fought first and won, but they decided not to have any more fights and to give the gold to the girl who did not fight. I am sure there must be a good reason but try and explain that to a young girl in her first competition. In fact I wouldnt mind hearing an explanation as well. Kayla is a star.

Our squad all came back as medal winners. the total haul for the day was one gold, one silver and six bronze.

Pictured below are the Northampton squad medal winners. When is the next competition then.
