On 29th March 2008 we held our club championships, which was a huge success. Medals were
won and there were also trophies for "best boy", "best girl", "player of the year" and "throw of the day". The
event was sponsored by David James. See inside for more info and pics!
Goole Championships Results. Fantastic day for the club on Sunday. Five of our
junior players did us proud up in Goole Yorkshire for the Open Championships. They all come away with a medal. Make no mistake,
this was not an easy competition by any means. Oop North they dont give you anything, you have to earn it.
Ciara Moore - Silver. George Smith - Silver. Kate Smith - Bronze. Mathew Moore - Bronze. Henry Passam -
Bronze. Well done to all of you. Also to coach Gemma as well who I know fought in this same competition many years ago
as an 8 or 9 year old. Oh well times change. Report to follow inside over the next few days. So watch this space and dont
forget to leave any messages on our guestbook at the back.
Look inside for details of Club Grading held on Monday 28th & Wednesday 30th January

John Humprey does it at last
At last John has the points for his first dan. Bedford grading (8th Sept) Johns first fight scored an ippon.
Not the best throw in the world but uke went flat on his back. For a moment there was a deathly silence then the cheers started.
Well done John. And also Andy Tate who got 10 points for his first dan as well. On to the March Grading for Andy.
